Vardo (gypsy) wagon

I've been looking at travel trailers and pop-ups for the past few months. Trying to decide just what I want to get if I ever have the money.
Well last week, I found this web site
(This is NOT my web site or my vardo.)
;
http://www.enslin.com/rae/gypsy/wagon16.htm .
Rae built two collapsible gypsy wagons, called vardos. She has pictures and commentary of the building process. The first one is impressive, but the second one... Wow.
I want one. Doing a build it yourself, I can have the size & layout I want, the colors & fabrics I want. I can have just what I want in it without having things I don't want.
I'm thinking that starting with a 7x14 trailer would give me a good sized base to start with. I would have to have it made, the way Rae did the second one, since I am usually setting up camp alone. I would keep the wench idea, but I like the idea of the
gas springs to take some of the load right from the start. They're the things that help lift the hatchback of a car, only bigger. They can lift several hundred pounds, so it seems a good idea. She says they installed one at each corner and it makes a huge difference.  Though she did warn me about maintenance needs. Check out the pictures below.
